How To Do That Knotted Top Trend? – It’s Flattering And Easy To Wear

I might be a bit too late on writing about that knotted top trend, since it’s been fashionable for a while.

Not complaining, but just check out the super cute knot top outfit I wore. It does sometimes feel like I’m back in my schooldays. All the clothes that I have worn to my school days, are now back, trendy and hanging in every shop. Yet, this knotted top trend I always needed to get used to it. But let’s face it, didn’t we all want to run around like Britney Spears or Christina Aguillera with those skin tight low-waisted jeans and ultra fitted tops. Thank God, today’s knotted top trend is more flattering and easy to wear by all ages, sizes and styles. Not to mention it’s got a bit of retro to it.

I saw this cute knot top at Pull & Bear and I immediately fell in love with this top because of the color and the cut. Although I don’t have the a very slim figure to wear crop tops, I just had to try it on. And Voilà, it didn’t look so bad! Because the cut is quite flattering for my V-body shape.

There are some tips that you should follow if you want to try out this  knotted top trend.

Below you can read it.

What should we consider:

Tie up your shirt, blouse or T-shirt to a knot and you have no worries and have fun with this style. The key is to have enough self-confidence to get a bit naked and balance your silhouette, although the truth is, this knot top trend is actually flattering, as it accentuates the waist and elongates the legs.

If you are going for a tight knotted crop top, it’s better to combine this top with high-waisted bottoms: shorts, jeans, skirts in every length.

In case you choose a loose knotted top, you can play around with sizes and widths on your bottoms. Wear them tight (skinny jeans, pencil skirts) or you can feel comfy and cool in oversized trousers or maxi skirts.

And now let’s talk about knotted shirts. You can tie a knot to any shirt you’ve got, or even borrow one from your husband, brother or boyfriend, because even it’s a few sizes too big, it’ll still look great once to tighten it up to your waist. Or you can buy those shirts that are already designed to be knotted. The knotted shirt is fantastic for casual styles or even for work, if you don’t expose your stomach too much. You can wear them with jeans, trousers, skirts and even dresses.

Actually, when it comes to knotted shirts you can layer all you want: tank tops, t-shirts, dresses, bodices. You’ll look effortlessly sophisticated and I think quite retro in a very modern way. Do it with a big had and suede booties to complete the look. For crispy mornings and nights add a jeans jacket or a woolen cardigan on top.  That’s it.

The knotted top trend is that trend that basically gives more lives to your tops, which can be worn as it is, loose, tucked in, or knotted in so many ways that it will look as if you’re rocking a different shirt or t-shirt every time. I loved tying my shirts in the 80s, and I’m still loving it now. It’s careless yet sophisticated. And it can even look polished in a very effortless way, or bohemian/edgy as you can see on my outfit pics.

So what do you think about the knotted top trend? Are you in? Leave me a comment, if you like!

Have  a  lovely evening.

PS: Sorry that sometimes my dog appears on the pics. I took her to the shooting that day and since I’m doing the shooting by myself, I couldn’t pay not that much attention of her. That’s why she often enter the frame.
