You may already know that we have a strong problem with a big neighboring farming field, which is being prepared to grow melons for a big Spanish supermarket chain. It’s a fight against windmills to escape the fine dust that is constantly blowing from the field into our residential area. Not only because of the pollution that is going on in our gardens and houses, but also because of our health, as we are all inhaling this fine dust for several weeks, which apparently closes the capillary of the lungs. We are very worried about that and everybody is hoping for a solution as soon as possible. Today it’s not as windy as it usually is in the summer time in Pozo, so I don't need to clean our house and garden from the daily dust. Thats’s why finally I have some time for you to write a new article.

Some days ago I found, during a little laptop clean up, these making-of shots from the “Nette Rose” photoshoot we realized in the beginning of the year. I must say it was such a beautiful job. “Nette Rose” is an ethical lingerie label from South Africa, which creates wonderful lifestyle intimate items for babes with a wild but gentle soul.

When Meg from “Nette Rose” asked us if we could imagine doing an analog shooting for them, I was really exited, because I like the philosophy of that label. I found out that Meg had the courage to start this label during the first year of the fashion studies, which was also always my dream. I know how hard this is and my hat's off to the courage and persistence of pulling this label up during studies, because that doesn't just take a lot of courage but also a certain amount of know-how. Of course, I checked out her website and I was pleasantly surprised and glad in which magnificent way they create its goods and not to mention that the fine handmade creations are simply wonderful and very pretty.

Also appreciative is the fact that the ethical production is really important for them. They always try to keep the good moods rolling in their studio. They do sustainability, they keep things limited and they think about the little thinks in terms of production and employees. In summery, they do slow fashion, what I really appreciate.

Actually there is lots more to tell about that delicate and beautiful handmade lingerie label, if you like to know more check out their homepage or Instagram account.

The first step, what we always do before we are going to plan and organize a shooting, is checking out the client and searching for inspirations which fits to the client. If we collected some ideas we started to create our mood boards. In this process often unfolds a little story, that we would like to tell in our photos. For this shooting we where thinking about to show how to spend a dreamlike, romantically and at the same time cozy day in a wonderful surrounding.

Together we agreed that we were looking for a natural looking not so thin model which also has its imperfections. It was quite hard to find that kind of model but we were thinking about one girl, we already made a shooting with her. It’s Silvia Urrutia. She has this kinda romantic French style, but we remembered her quiet skinny, which we actually didn’t want. However, after we were thinking about Dani phoned her just to ask if she is interesting and available to shoot with us for “Nette Rose” and luckily she said yes. But she also mentioned that she isn’t as slim as she was before, because she didn't want to support this slimness craze any more. She asked if it would be a matter to us. Oh girls, can you imagine how happy we were, so immediately we told her that it suites our idea even more and that we are super happy about that.

Besides we where super happy that the Hair & Makeup Artist Caro Band was available, too. Because we know her from some jobs we realized together before and I like her work. She works really natural and never too much. As you can see on the pics, that she did an amazing job and brought out Silvia’s natural beauty even more.

Daniell had already thought about the location and had found a wonderful little romantic Bed and Breakfast Hotel, called Old Chocolate Factory. We were lucky that it was possible to rent a suite and also to be able to use other nice corners of the hotel like bathrooms, corridors, staircases, patios...etc. The owner was really helpful and friendly. This sweet little hotel is so beautiful that I almost extended the suite to spend a romantic weekend with my husband. ;-)

Ok ok, rather to get back to the topic...my part was to chose the right items of Nette Rose, that fit into the story we wanted to tell with the pics and, of course, to create the looks around the Nette Rose items. As I said before, we wanted to keep everything natural, I only wanted to add a cosy touch and a kinda linger around atmosphere. Like as you really enjoy a lovely day wearing Nette Rose during your intimate moments and feeling comfortable in your own skin. I would like to show how she love yourself and doesn’t have any shame of her body.

So I chose, some kimonos, pyjamas, chunky sweater and some cozy home-wear to create a certain look. I only added pieces that I could combine well with each other, to get as much looks as possible.

I hope you like the making-of shots and you like to have a sneak peak of how we use to work and, of course, some of the magnificent analog shots of this shooting. I prepared a little photo gallery of my fav pics. Take a look! Gosh…there are so many pics I really love. Impossible to keep it little… ;-)

Thanks a lot for passing by and have a great day,

Love,

Katy!
