A New Slow Fashion Outfit With Second Hand Tee And DIY Embroidered Statement
Since the HBO Production, in which I'm involved as a costume assistant, I’m very busy right now.
But finally I’ve managed to use my weekend to create a new post. As you can see on the pics I’ve set up a new small photo studio, where from now on I always will capture my outfit pics. The plan is trying to decorate that set up in different ways to create new surroundings. Like this, it will be more comfortable for me and it will save time because I don't have to look for new locations anymore, which took always a lot of time. One of the benefits is also that I can make DIY tutorials or I even try out some food recipes over there.
So I’m pretty happy about that nice corner and I hope it works out well. Let’s see….!!! ;-)
Let’s go back to my outfit. Recently I checked out quickly a second hand shop in Vecindario and I found for 1€ this nice beige basic tee. Originally it’s a Zara T-shirt for men. I really like that color and the fact that’s a cool basic item. Because you must know, I love basic pieces.
But somehow I would like to change it a little bit. I wanted to add something personal. That’s why I decided to turn it into a statement tee. But the question was, how? And I came up with the idea of embroidering the statement at the fabric. So for the first time I was trying to embroider a Statement and you must know I really like having little statement on tees. So I decided to go for “do the damn things”.
Actually it didn’t turn out very well, because I had just embroidered it freehand. Therefore I think it’s quite ok and it was just a try. The thing is, at the first look you can’t recognize it very well. But If you know the statement then you can read it. Doesn’t matter that it hasn’t turned out perfectly. Actually that doesn't make me want to leave it at just one attempt. On the contrary, it motivates me to make some more statement shirts. When I will find some time. Because now I know how to make it better. My motto is always : “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, just be afraid of not learning from them!”
I combined that tee with my old jeans in boyfriend cut. I have owned these denim pants for several years but soon they will be gone. Because of the increasing hole at the knee, I should have a new one. I always wait until the last moment, but I’m already looking for a fair fashion solution. Let's see which pair of denim I will purchase. Telling you soon.
The shoes and the hat I also already own. I wore them for my wedding outfit when we got married 2018 officially in German. It was a beautiful late summer wedding at the beach in north Germany. If you are interested I leave you the link of our wedding HERE.
That’s it!!! Like always not a big deal but kind of special through the establishment of my own style by the DIY-statement at the tee and adding some of my fav accessories like the hat and the black belt with eyelets. By the way I was completely without make-up. Luckily I wore the hat to hide my tired-looking eyes.
If you want to know how to embroider your own tees, then stay tuned. I will make for you a DIY-Turorial as soon as possible. But actually I have also thought about producing various statement tees and raffle them off to you. What do you like more, making them yourself or to get one for free?
Let me know!!!!
Wish you all a great start into a new week tomorrow and let’s “do the damn things”!
Love,
Katy!
