Lanzarote - Morning Lights at Famara Beach

I really love the morning lights with the pale pink sky and the mystic mists laid like a gentle and soft melting veil over the sea all the way up to the beach. When the haze slowly disappeared and opened the view of mother earth again, it always seemed to me every morning like a fresh start due to the creation of a new day. I always enjoyed to watch this from our roof tent. It always felt so optimistic and positive.

After the sun came over the mountainside during the morning, everything came to life. Most campers or vanlifers corked out of their vans and the first local surfers showed up to check the waves. More and more people walked along the shore to take advantage of the firm sand for a sporty walking session.

Our routine started always with a walk to the shore and a jump into the ocean to get awake and having a delicious coffee afterwards.

After enjoying our coffee and looking to the ocean, Daniell always liked to spend some time with a little ukulele session. During the lockdown he had started to practice every day for 1-2 hours. In the beginning it was impossible for me to stay inside the house. But in Lanzarote, which was some months later, it works quite well, but it still needs a little more practice to be able to play around the campfire ;-)))). I really appreciate that he wants to learn it and that he just tried it out. No master has ever fallen from the sky. And if he will decide to stop, it’s also not a big deal. Everything can, nothing needs to be.

Not only on Fuerteventura and El Hierro, but also here in Lanzarote at the Famara beach we have spent a wonderful time. We were 5 nights at the same spot and we could have stayed even longer.

I love this life connected with nature. Especially when it goes like this:

SURF, EAT, SLEEP, REPEAT

In a place like this you just can't do anything else but come down and relax.

As well the long evening walks in the sunset with our beloved lady-dog Nica, which we miss so much after her death this year in May, were always a highlight. This was the last time when we traveled together with her. That’s why all these memories of her are really special for us.

When we left after 5 nights with heavy hearts we packed everything early in the morning but not without enjoying that beautiful morning light again. We needed to be at the ferry at 10:00 as I can remember and we still had a car ride of almost 2 hours ahead. Unfortunately the downside is that you need from Gran Canaria to Lanzarote almost a whole travel day. But these 5 days were still worth it.

I hope that we can go for a short trip soon, because I already feel like I need to hit the road again.

But right now Lenny stays for some days in a beauty farm to get new front seat covers and the matching mattress for the bed. I'm looking forward when everything is ready and then hopefully we can go again until I have a job in the middle of October.

Let’s see!

I hope you all had a good start into a new week.

Katy
