Oversized Shirt And Skinny Denim Always Work
Crazy how time flies, these pics were taken at the beginning of the year before the lockdown. And now Winter is around the corner. Since then a lot has happened but nothing either. Right now I can feel there is a strange kind of mood in the air. Maybe it's because almost entire Europe is going into lockdown again and at the same time having the upcoming dark cold winter months ahead. But we gonna get trough this season and trust me we gonna see the other side when spring will give us new life’s.
To get trough this winter season fashionably I just would like to share this dated outfit with you. Luckily I own so many timeless clothes that I can wear the same pieces even after 10 months without get boring or going out of fashion. Of course I always try to combine my clothes in new ways. But this outfit I will wear exactly the same way again now.
As I said before, oversized shirt and skinny jeans always work. I love this wide and soft falling shirt, which I have owned for almost a year now. It’s a basic piece that I can combine with anything. You can wear it close like on the pics, open with a tee or turtle neck underneath or even knotted in the front as a cropped top. It’s so versatile to combine. But my fav way to wear is loose and close combined with a skinny jeans so it doesn't look too boxy and clumsy.
I really like the rough boots for this outfit, as the higher platform made me look a bit taler and my legs a little elongated. I have always loved this kind of boots since my youth. When I had my rebellious time as a teenager, I always wore combats boots combined with flower dresses and hoodies, like the Seattle-grunge or punk style. Funny thing is, that this style is back in fashion since some time.
That’s why I always say, the wheel is not being reinvented, so keep your clothes safe and buy something is made of good quality, that lasts long, so you can still wear them after 10 years when the pieces are back in fashion. Sustainable fashion starts by using mostly the clothes you already have in your closet. Therefore I advise you not to throw anything away. If you want to get rid of it because your closet is bursting, then first try to find to store them in another place. For example, replace your spring/summer clothes with autumn/winter clothes once a year or the clothes you really don’t want give them to Charity stores, maybe someone else will get happy.
Best way is trie to wear your clothes as long as possible. It ‘s nothing wrong to wear an old sweater you bought few years ago and now take it out and wear because it’s trendy again or so timeless that you can wear it every year. Please don't spend all your money for clothes that will be out of fashion in two or three months so that ends up in the garbage after once or twice worn or disappears in the back of your closet.
All my pieces you see on that pics I will wear again this season, even the hat which I owned for almost three years like the boots. Shirt and denim I bought last year from Stradivarius, which I will treat carefully that they will stay with me for a long time.
What I’m trying to say is that the attachment to our most beloved pieces of clothing is not excessive or too overdone, because the most sustainable piece in your closet is not always the one that is ethically produced from environmentally friendly fabrics, but the one that you love and will wear for your whole life.
I hope you had a lovely Sunday and I wish you a good start into a new week tomorrow.
Love,
Katy
